The international HPH Secretariat will moved to Optimedis, Hamburg on September 1, 2019
Starting September 1, 2019, the host of the international HPH Secretariat will change to OptiMedis AG in Hamburg, Germany, under the direction of Dr Oliver Groene. Dr Groene will be known to many as the main author of the first WHO HPH Standards, and was previously Manager of the Quality of Health Systems Programme at the WHO Regional Office for Europe.
This change has occurred as a result of a WHO decision to remove roles such as secretariats from terms of reference agreements with WHO Collaborating Centres. Therefore, for the first time, the International HPH Network needs to develop formal agreements with appropriate organisations to ensure secretariat functions continue. Following an open tender process in the northern hemisphere Spring, the General Assembly decided that the new Secretariat will be hosted by Dr Groene’s team at OptiMedis.
We warmly welcome Oliver Groene and his team in taking over this important work for us. We also wish to sincerely thank the Clinical Health Promotion Centre staff in Copenhagen, under the direction of Hanne Tønnesen, for their ambitious work and devotion to the International HPH Network over so many years.
