Jürgen M. Pelikan, Dr. phil. is Professor emeritus for sociology at University of Vienna /Austria and Director of the Competence Center for Health Promotion in Hospitals and Health Care at the Austrian Public Health Institute in Vienna / Austria. This center, besides doing research, is responsible for scientifically supporting the annual international HPH conferences, where he acts as chair of the scientific committee. He also is co-chairing the Action Network for Measuring Population and Organizational Health Literacy (M-POHL) of the European Health Information Initiative (EHII) of WHO-Europe. Jürgen Pelikan also leads the WG on “HPH and Health Literate Health Care Organizations (HPH & HLO)”of the international HPH Network
Dr Oliver Groene (Int. HPH Secretariat)
Dr Oliver Groene is Vice Chairman of the Board and Head of the Research & Development department at OptiMedis AG. He oversees research and development of population health management programmes. Oliver Groene holds a Master´s degree in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a PhD in Public Health from the University of Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. Previously, he was Associate Professor in Health Services Research at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Manager of the Quality of Health Systems Programme at the WHO.
